Tools Needed:

Step-by-Step Manual Drain Process

  1. Safety First: Turn off power to the dishwasher at the circuit breaker to prevent electrical hazards.
  2. Access Drain Area: Remove the lower dish rack to access the bottom of the dishwasher tub.
  3. Locate Drain Filter: Find the cylindrical drain filter assembly in the center back of the dishwasher floor.
  4. Remove Filter: Turn the filter assembly counterclockwise and lift it out carefully.
  5. Manual Water Removal: Use a cup or small container to manually remove standing water from the bottom of the tub.
  6. Check Drain Hose: Inspect the drain hose under the sink for kinks or clogs and clear any obstructions.
  7. Reset and Test: Replace the filter, restore power, and run a short drain cycle to test functionality.
