Tools Needed:

  • Bucket or shallow pan
  • Towels or rags
  • Pliers
  • Flat-head screwdriver
  • Flashlight

Step-by-Step Manual Drain Process

  1. Power Off: Unplug the washing machine from the electrical outlet for safety.
  2. Locate Drain Filter: Find the drain filter access panel, typically located at the bottom front of the machine.
  3. Prepare for Water: Place towels and a shallow pan or bucket in front of the access panel to catch water.
  4. Open Access Panel: Use a flat-head screwdriver to gently pry open the access panel or remove the cover.
  5. Locate Drain Hose: Identify the emergency drain hose and remove the cap or plug.
  6. Drain Water: Slowly direct the drain hose into your bucket or pan and allow water to drain completely.
  7. Clean Filter: Remove and clean the drain filter of any debris or obstructions.
  8. Reassemble: Replace the filter, secure the drain hose, and close the access panel.
